Meet Our Team in Haiti
The Pi Gwo Byen program is only as strong as the people who show up for it every day. Our team in La Gonâve is made up of dedicated teachers, kitchen staff, and facilities crew who live and work in the same communities they serve — and who believe deeply in the power of education to transform lives.
Together, they bring decades of combined experience, a shared commitment to literacy, and a profound understanding of what it means for a child or adult on La Gonâve to learn to read for the very first time. Many of our staff have worked with Pi Gwo Byen for over a decade, choosing to invest their talents in a program they see changing their island from within — one student at a time.

I studied at UNASMOH University. I am a child educator and a teacher by vocation, committed to supporting both children and adults who have not had the opportunity to attend school. For the past 14 years, I’ve proudly worked with Pi Gwo Byen - a remarkable program that has taught me so much and continues to transform lives.
Pi Gwo Byen has made a lasting impact by helping families who otherwise couldn't afford to send their children to school. On behalf of the team in Haiti and the entire community, I extend heartfelt thanks to Kelly Kobza and the international board for their incredible support and dedication.

I studied law at UEH University and have been proudly serving as a Level 2 teacher with Pi Gwo Byen for the past 10 years.
I truly love this program—it’s a powerful initiative that is making a real difference in Haiti, especially in Anse-à-Galets on the island of La Gonâve.
Pi Gwo Byen provides children with the opportunity to learn to read and write, particularly those who never had the chance to attend school. It also supports adults who were unable to complete their education. This program helps them all. I want to express my sincere thanks to Kelly and to everyone who contributes financially to keep this vital work going. Through education, Pi Gwo Byen continues to change lives—one student at a time.

I’ve been working with Pi Gwo Byen for the past four years. I completed my classical studies in 2017, and I’m also a proud mother of two daughters.
Pi Gwo Byen is an incredible program that gives hope to children who never had the chance to attend school. I've witnessed students come into the program unable to read a single word—and today, thanks to Pi Gwo Byen, they are reading fluently and confidently. That transformation is why I’m so proud to be part of this work.
I send heartfelt congratulations to Kelly Kobza and all the board members for supporting a program that continues to change lives and help children soar like birds toward a brighter future.
Thank you so much!
